The price of a kilogramme of local big onions has increased.

When nquires were made from the Dambulla Economic Centre, it was revealed that during the last few days, a kilogramme of local big onions were sold at Rs. 40.

However, the price now stands between Rs. 70 and Rs. 100 per kilogramme. Farmers point out that the cause for the price rise is the 100% tax on imported big onions, which was imposed by the president.
